A video has emerged from Romania showing a British factory boss calling a group of workers "f***ing peasants" and "animals" after they complained that their wages were paid late.

Eleftherios Vanellis was filmed by an employee at the textile factory he runs in Paulesti, Romania.

Vanellis, a dual Cypriot and British citizen, unleashed the foul-mouthed rant after telling a large group of workers that their salaries would be paid one day late.

"I am fed up with the f****ing lot of you. The way you behaved yesterday, you're f***ing animals!' He screams.

In the face of complaints from the offended staff, Vanellis carries on: "You're disgusting. Oi! F**k off! F**k off! If you don't like it you can f**k off!'

Newsflare approached the textile company but they declined to comment.

Vanellis is not believed to be a legal representative of the firm but was considered by workers to be their boss.

The Territorial Labour Inspectorate from Prahova County is investigating the incident
