Wild winds and heavy rains battered Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture on August 4 as Typhoon Noru neared. The typhoon hit Japan’s southern islands on Saturday, killing at least one person, NHK reported. The storm inched close to southern Kyushu on Sunday and would bring “extremely heavy rain” to eastern and western Japan, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
