A group of climate activists opposed to a mining project by the Adani Group gathered outside a Brisbane bank, which decided to close ahead of the protest on Thursday, July 27. According to Green Left Weekly, the branch closed to the public ahead of its decision on whether to assist in financing the mine. According to The Guardian, the Commonwealth Bank board of directors must decide on whether to finance the mine, which activists say will have a negative impact on the health of the Great Barrier Reef.
