While Hollywood seems dead set on burning itself to the ground with strikes, bad content, and bombs in the box office, One Piece, Netflix's latest manga/anime live action adaptation, seems to have broken the mold. Currently ranking as the top Netflix show in 84 countries, largest number in history, One Piece is also getting rave reviews from the viewers, sitting at 96% with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Why has One Piece found success when other adaptations, anime or otherwise, have failed all year long in 2023? There's two major reasons.
