Firefighters battled a blaze that broke out at a Coolaroo, Melbourne, recycling plant on Thursday, July 13, as more than 100 homes in the area were evacuated due to hazardous air quality. Metropolitan Fire Brigade commander Ken Brown said that it could take crews up to three days to put out the blaze, according to ABC News. At least two other fires had broken out at the recycling facility since the start of the year, according to The Age, who said that smoke and ash was being carried as far as 20 kilometers by the wind.
