The district of 100 Mile House has gone under evacuation order due to the wildfires ravaging British Columbia. The order was given by Mayor Mitch Campsall on July 9. While many locals have left the region, recent reports from Global News reveal that some ranchers have remained on their properties to fight the fire, using makeshift resources like a 500-gallon tank in the back of a truck. The wildfires near 100 Mile House had grown to 5000 acres as of July 9. This footage, taken two days before, shows smoke looming over the community. Credit: Instagram/deannadeaconspeaks via Storyful
