Flash-flood warnings were in place for large parts of Illinois in and around Chicago on Wednesday, July 12. Heavy rain overnight triggered flash flooding in much of the region. Police had to use rubber rafts to help motorists stranded because of high water in Fox Lake, according to a news report. Thousands were without power, and at least one commuter train line was suspended because of the flooding. Credit: Twitter/KKirkscey via Storyful
