Jennings Fire Near San Diego Grows to 400 Acres, Threatens Homes

A brush fire that started along Interstate 80 near Lakeside, California rapidly grew to 400 acres on July 11, causing nearby evacuations. The fire, which has been named the Jennings Fire, threatened five homes, according to Cal Fire San Diego. A portion of Interstate 80 was closed off going both directions and mandatory evacuations were issued for View Side Lane and parts of Alpine.
