Fires Burn in Hamburg as Anti-G20 Protests Continue

Rumble Parts of the German city of Hamburg were overrun and fires were started in the streets on Friday, July 7, as anti-G20 protests continued into their second day. Heavy security was present from the outset, as police on Thursday warned protesters their planned rally would not go ahead unless people removed face masks. Authorities said as many as 160 officers were injured and at least 70 protesters arrested as some 15,000 members of the country’s security forces patrolled the streets.
