London Mayor Sadiq Khan addressed a public Eid celebration in Trafalgar Square on July 2, stressing that the city is united in the wake of a series of terrorist attacks and the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower. Listing many of the nationalities that live side by side in the capital, Khan said, “It’s really important we remind the world London is open, London is united.” Since the start of the year, attacks near Westminster, London Bridge and most recently at the Finsbury Park mosque, claimed 14 lives and wounded dozens more. He also lauded the emergency services in the city, saying, “You know who else are here? These are people where there is danger, they run towards danger and make sure we are safe.” Credit: YouTube/British Muslim Photographer Girl via Storyful
