Donald Trump supporters and protesters faced off at the University of Illinois Chicago Pavilion, where Trump was supposed to hold a campaign stop on Friday, March 11. Trump postponed the rally citing safety concerns and called for protesters to be arrested, pointing the finger at supporters of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders.Sanders issued a statement saying his campaign did not organise the protests, which Sanders said was the result "a candidate that has promoted hatred and division against Latinos, Muslims, women, and people with disabilities, and his birther attacks against the legitimacy of President Obama. Sanders also criticised Trump as a “pathological liar.”Trump returned to Illinois on Sunday for a rally in the central Illinois community of Bloomington.
