Toddler's Train Set Perfectly Illustrates the Jastrow Illusion

Marc Blank-Settle shared a video to Twitter on April 6 to show how his toddler’s train set was freaking him out. The video, on over 1,300 retweets at the time of writing, features two seemingly different-sized wooden track pieces that are actually the same size. Blank-Settle was actually unknowingly demonstrating the Jastrow Illusion, something that depends on the positioning of the pieces. A second video, below, illustrates the same illusion.
