In this lecture, we will review the types of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.

Child maltreatment is a major global public health challenge that involves various types of abuse and neglect (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).
There are 4 Types of Child Maltreatment: Physical Abuse, Neglect, Sexual Abuse, and Emotional Maltreatment (Martorell, 2023).

We will also review the Symptoms of Child Abuse for it is not always easy to recognize when a child has been abused.
