Landspout Forms in Southwest Minnesota

An apparent landspout – a so-called “dust-tube tornado” not associated with the tornadoes that form from a super-cell thunderstorm – formed over Pipestone in southwest Minnesota on Friday, June 3. Forecasters said thunderstorms would bring quarter-sized hail and wind gusts of up to 60 mph to the area.
