As many as 3,000 firefighters were battling a wildfire in Los Angeles County on Monday, July 25, that threatened thousands of homes, triggering widespread evacuations. The Sand Fire, near Santa Clarita, stood at 33,117 acres on Monday morning and was 10 percent contained, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
