Fire Forces Hundreds to Evacuate Shopping Mall in San Antonio

A fire that broke out at a restaurant near Rivercenter Mall in San Antonio forced hundreds to evacuate the shopping area and the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk hotel on June 27. According to reports, the fire started as a grease fire at a River Walk restaurant and continued to spread in the ducts between Tony Roma’s and Luciano restaurants. No injuries have been reported. The International Society for Technology in Education is holding a conference nearby at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
