When your cistern is broken or your water stops working, it can get pretty messy when you have to go to the bathroom. After all, you want to flush away what you've left behind. And how exactly that still works, I show you in this video!

Of course, you still need water for this, but it does not have to come from the cistern. If the cistern is broken, for example, you can fill water from the sink into a bucket. Otherwise, you can also take water from a rain barrel, if you have one.

Fill the bucket with water and then go to your toilet. Now just tip this into the toilet and your leavings will be gone.
Because the cistern does nothing but run water into the toilet until the water level is so high that everything can drain out the back.
