Officials in the Florida panhandle were preparing for Tropical Storm Cindy on Wednesday, June 21, by closing beaches and putting measures in place to prevent flooding. Navarre and Pensacola beaches were closed to swimmers on Wednesday, and the entrance to Gulf Islands National Seashore from Navarre Beach was also closed, according to a news report. Roads remained open with hazards. A flood warning also was in effect, and local officials said the area is at risk. An additional 4-8 inches of rain were expected through Thursday. The latest forecast had Cindy hitting the Gulf Coast overnight. Credit: Facebook/Maggie Warren via Storyful
