People gathered to view a humpback whale carcass washed ashore at Beavertail State Park in Rhode Island on Sunday, June 18, after it was discovered on Friday. Cameron McCormick and his wife Tala Wunderler-Selby stopped by to take a look at the whale, which was about 9.7 meters (32 feet) long, according to the Newport Daily News. “It seems like there’s an incredible amount of gas in there (some of which is causing blister-like formations on the skin),” McCormick said in a Facebook post.
