Deadly forest fires ripped through the Pedrogao Grande area of Central Portugal on Saturday, June 17. Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa said at least 24 people had been killed and referred to the fires as “the greatest tragedy of human lives we have seen in Portugal in recent times”.
