Following a deadly fire at Grenfell Tower on June 14, members of the Muslim community, who were on the scene to assist in aid efforts, held an Iftar (fast-breaking) meal, followed by prayer, on a West London street near Grenfell Tower. Locals praised Muslims for helping save lives during the apartment tower fire in the Kensington neighborhood. Many locals offered assistance to the residents of Grenfell Tower, prompting the Kensington and Chelsea Council to ask people to stop donating items for victims of the Grenfell Tower fire after they were “inundated” with donations.
