Surfers made the most of the bad weather in Hong Kong on Monday, June 12, by heading to the beach to take advantage of the swells generated by Typhoon Merbok. Waves topping 8.2 foot were recorded at popular Hong Kong surfing spots like the aptly named Big Wave Bay, according to surf forecasting website Magicseaweed. This video shows surfers enjoying the waves before Merbok made landfall on Monday evening.
