Veterinarians who were attempting to free a stranded juvenile whale at Sawtell Beach, New South Wales, made the decision to euthanise the animal on Saturday, June 10. According to Channel 7 the rescue operation was called off due to poor weather on Saturday morning before the whale was put down by the National Parks and Wildlife service. The decision was made when the whale’s condition deteriorated and the team decided to end its suffering, the ABC reported.
