Researchers in Brazil have captured high-speed footage of the impact of a lightning strike on a building for the first time. The dramatic footage shows electricity arching in slow motion towards a tower block in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. The video was released with a study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters on May 14. The researchers wrote that they hope their findings will aid physicists and building engineers.
