Residents of Marawi City <a href="https://twitter.com/AyaloweCNA/status/869837176590057472" target="_blank">were rescued</a> on May 31 as Philippine security forces continued operations in the city against the Islamic State-linked separatist group Maute.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (<span class="caps">AFP</span>) <a href="http://www.afp.mil.ph/index.php/8-afp-news/422-61-maute-isis-terrorists-killed-in-marawi-operations" target="_blank">said on May 30</a> that 61 “terrorists” had been killed and 390 civilians rescued since May 25. Another 19 non-combative civilians also died, the army said.
