Residents of Marawi City <a href="" target="_blank">were rescued</a> on May 31 as Philippine security forces continued operations in the city against the Islamic State-linked separatist group Maute.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (<span class="caps">AFP</span>) <a href="" target="_blank">said on May 30</a> that 61 “terrorists” had been killed and 390 civilians rescued since May 25. Another 19 non-combative civilians also died, the army said.
