Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano emitted a dense column of ash and smoke on the morning of Friday, November 25, starling observers.

The <a href="http://www.cenapred.gob.mx/cgi-bin/popo/reportes/ultrepi2.cgi" target="_blank">National Center for Disaster Prevention</a> recorded 324 outbursts with steam and gas emission and a small amount of ash from the volcano in the last 24 hours.

Popocatepetl, the second highest peak in Mexico, is one of 1,500 active volcanoes worldwide. It lay dormant for decades until an eruption in 1994. Since, its rumbling have become a regular occurrence.
