Newly emerged <span class="caps">CCTV</span> video shows Orlando police <span class="caps">SWAT</span> teams place explosives on a wall at the rear of the Pulse nightclub to breach it and fire at the shooter inside. <a href="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/pulse-orlando-nightclub-shooting/os-pulse-shooting-swat-20160630-story.html" target="_blank">Thirteen <span class="caps">SWAT</span> members fired at the shooter, Omar Mateen, in this final Pulse gunfight</a>.

Mateen appeared through a hole that was blown open by a bomb squad, <a href="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/pulse-orlando-nightclub-shooting/os-pulse-shooting-swat-20160630-story.html" target="_blank">according to the <span class="caps">SWAT</span> team commander</a>.

Forty-nine people were killed and another 53 injured when Mateen opened fire inside the club on June 12. Florida Gov Rick Scott and US President Barack Obama both described the incident as an act of terrorism. Mateen was also killed.

There was some criticism of police tactics after the attack but the <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/police-tactics-expert-rips-orlando-response-club-shooting-article-1.2671907" target="_blank"><span class="caps">SWAT</span> team commander rejected that, saying the breach allowed police to target the shooter and rescue a number of people still trapped inside the nightclub.</a>
