An ice skater in Big Lake, Alaska, had to be rescued after falling through a frozen lake in November 2016. The rescue crew pulled the man across the ice as police and paramedics waited to help the man recover.

The lake was not fully frozen and the skater plunged into the icy water about 200 yards from the shore. The man was in the water for 45 to 50 minutes before being rescued and was released from hospital after a short stay.
