Sri Lanka Army Vehicles Power Through Flooded Village

Army vehicles on May 27 drove through floodwaters to assist in flood relief efforts in Bulathsinhala, southwest Sri Lanka.

At least 151 peopled died in killed in flooding and landslides following one of the worst rains in over a decade, according to meteorology officials, <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-sri-lanka-disaster-idUSKBN18O0PN" target="_blank">Reuters</a> reported. Authorities reached stranded people by helicopters and boats but had difficulty getting to the hard-hit areas in the southern and western part of the country.

The Indian Navy has sent ships, supplies and aid to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo, the <a href="http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/in-pics-sri-lanka-floods-armoured-vehicles-on-streets-indian-navy-sends-ships-for-rescue/story-iuiRqHJDFiJ6AUonuw1PoJ.html" target="_blank">Hindustan Times</a> reported.
