Bushfire Breaks Containment Lines in Northern NSW Coast

A bushfire on the central coast which broke containment lines and burnt through 456 hectares of land was downgraded on February 17.

<a href="https://www.northernstar.com.au/news/breaking-fire-has-broken-containment-lines/3144954/" target="_blank">It reportedly</a> took 15 firefighting crews to contain the Lennox Head blaze, <a href="https://newswire.storyful.com/collections/bushfires-201617_3165" target="_blank">one of many</a> cropping up across New South Wales during the month of February. Emergency services closed the surrounding roads, and broke containment lines due to strong winds.

<a href="https://northernstar.com.au/news/water-bomber-dispatched-lennox-fire/3145135/" target="_blank">The Northern Star</a> reported a waterbomber was dispatched to combat the fire in the morning of February 18. The Rural Fire Service would also conduct backburning as an additional containment measure.
