Timelapse Footage Shows Southern Lights in 2017
An avid photographer and admirer of the Southern Lights has gathered timelapse videos of the phenomena during 2017.
Nick Wong filmed timelapse footage of the stunning auroras while on a chartered flight that departed from Dunedin, New Zealand, and flew two-thirds of the way to the South Pole.
Wong, a cancer research scientist who hails from Melbourne, Australia, moved to Dunedin three years earlier, where he found his new calling – and hobby.
Wong told Storyful that he became inspired with timelapse videos of the nighttime skies after watching the House of Cards’ main title sequence.
