Colima Volcano Spews Dense Cloud of Ash and Smoke

Mexico’s Colima volcano continued to erupt on Monday, January 9, the latest in a series of eruptions.

The latest activity at the volcano started on <a href="https://newswire.storyful.com/storylines/*/stories/153551" target="_blank">January 7</a>, when ash and smoke dusted surrounding towns and led to the closure of a nearby airport.

Colima’s <a href="https://twitter.com/PC_Colima/status/818227130999808000" target="_blank">Civil Protection Agency</a> reported that a pyroclastic flow, a dense cloud of hot ash and gas, was expected as a result of the blast and warned of falling ash in nearby towns.
