93-Yr-Old Vet Takes The Stage, Then Leaves Crowd Howling With Childhood Story
One day, Tom Sitter was accompanying his daughter Kathy to a storytelling event called Moth StorySLAM. When they got there, the 93-year-old World War II veteran decided to get in on the action.
In the video below, posted on April 24, 2017, Tom walks onstage, as the event’s host warms the crowd up for him. He encourages the crowd to feed each performer some energy and parts with, “Give it up for Tom, everybody!”
The crowd cheers, but they are unsure what the elderly man‘s storytelling set will be about. Little do they know, Tom is about to make them laugh their pants off.
“Hi. This may come as a shock to many of you, but I was not always this handsome,” Tom tells the audience, receiving a hearty dose of laughter in response.
Tom explains he’ll be telling a childhood story from 1933. He informs the crowd that he was just a schoolboy back then. Tom then recalls a particular Valentine’s Day on which his big expectations were absolutely compromised.
Through his childhood story, he recounts this particular holiday as one full of Valentine’s Day cards and memorable classmates — but also a huge source of embarrassment.
