The Eta Aquarids are meteor showers most visible on May 7 annually, and in 2017 they did not fail to delight those who took the time to watch as their tails lit up the sky. Photographer David Finlay viewed the shower from Kiama, New South Wales, and said it was “an especially good show with lots of bright fireballs, leaving green ionised trails.” “The Eta Aquarids are caused by the Earth passing through dust left behind by the tail of Halley’s Comet.”
