Police and anti-government protesters clashed again in Caracas, Venezuela on April 22, despite opposition calls for peaceful protests calling for an end to the deaths of protests during weeks of unrest, according to activist reports. An opposition-led protest marched to the headquarters of the Venezuelan Roman Catholic diocese in the nation’s capital. At least 22 people have been reportedly killed amidst the violence during the protests this month against the government of President Nicolas Maduro. Many protesters wore white and the march was held in silence. Elsewhere, protesters marching on Francisco Fajardo Highway were stopped by police, who fired gas in an attempt to disperse the demonstration. The clashes can be seen in this video.
