Student Builds Laser-Shooting Pizza Box Robot, Immediately Regrets it
A Northern Arizona University student built a complex pizza box robot designed to shoot a laser into your eyes using a camera and facial recognition software. Michael Reeves, a native of Maui, Hawaii, shared a video of the sophisticated piece of technology to YouTube on April 17. In the clip, the young programmer explains his reasoning behind constructing the complex machine, saying, “It’s an age-old question, is there a God? What is the meaning of life? And can I have a robot that recognizes my face and shoots me with lasers in the eyeball?” He quickly discovered the answer. Reeves’ video, shared to YouTube on April 17, had amassed 212,496 views at the time of writing. Storyful has contacted the uploader for clearance.
