A tear-jerking video has emerged showing the emotional moment when an autistic eight-year-old boy, who is usually mute, sings along to famous song ‘Hallelujah’.

Footage, filmed on March 29, shows Patrick King Jr watching in awe as his dad Patrick Sr begins to play Tori Kelly’s version of the classic song. Enchanted by the music, this sweet boy breaks out in a huge grin and is encouraged by his dad to sing along with the chorus.

At first, Patrick Jr is acting very shy and doesn’t dare to sing along, he can only be seen opening and closing his mouth, not uttering a sound. The silent boy listens to his dad singing along and somehow grows confidence to follow up his steps, so moments later we can hear mum Angie’s excited scream as the shy eight-year-old boy decides to give it a try and joins in.

Parents Patrick Sr and Angie, from Lancaster, California, USA, wanted to share this incredibly emotional moment with the world when their autistic eight-year-old mute son sang along to Hallelujah. It is Hallelujah indeed, what a miracle!

Patrick Jr has a very limited speech and he normally communicates by using gestures. He has always loved music and dancing but this is the first time he showed interest in singing. Hallelujah!

Music has inspired this mute eight-year old autistic boy to overcome his fear of talking by using his vocal cords through singing!

Individuals of all ages and all abilities can benefit from music therapy. Previously, music therapy has been used to support emotional, cognitive and social development in many populations. Music therapy may help to promote wellness by managing stress, enhancing memory, and improving communication.
