Security Forces Fire Tear Gas Amid Caracas Protests
Venezuelans in multiple cities gathered for anti-government protests on April 10 in the fourth round of demonstrations to hit the country within the past 10 days. Protests were triggered by a March 30 Supreme Court decision to strip power from the opposition-controlled National Assembly, a decision the court later withdrew. Later, in a separate move, the national comptroller banned opposition leader Henrique Capriles from holding office for 15 years. This footage shows large a large crowd or demonstrators running away as tear gas is fired on the streets of Caracas, Venezuela. A small group of demonstrators pick up and hurl the gas canisters back towards security forces.
