People, if you haven’t tuned in by now, please stop what you’re doing and google Normani Kordei DWTS! She is absolutely unstoppable in this competition so far, and I mean, she is almost outshining her PRO-dance partner Val! Monday night marked the fourth week some of our favorite stars battled it out on the dance floor. The theme was “Most Memorable Years” night , and of course Normani couldn’t overlook her most memorable years have been the most recent ones with her girl group, 5th Harmony! Actually, her squad was there in the flesh to not only support Normani, but they were there to perform the song Valmani danced the rumba to!! We’ve got two performances to break down here… so let’s start with the dancers! For those of you who don’t know what the rumba is, it is a rhythmic dance with Spanish and African elements. Definitely something Valmani is capable of the crushing! Normani starts the number off by singing ‘Impossible,’ then her Lauren takes over the vocals then Ally Brooke and then all three of them. Normani shows off her flexibility and her ability to spin on her tippy toes. The dance had a ton of passion and emotion in it! I really think there is a relationship brewing between Val and Normani, but that’s just my secret hope! Okay, so the dancing looked great, but the judges weren’t so thrilled. Despite their endless compliments to Normani, the group only got a 32/40, and they didn’t lead the scoreboard like they have the past few weeks! The low score could have been influenced by 5th harmony’s vocals! Now on to the second performance of the night! Some critics are saying Valmani’s performance had the most distracting soundtrack of the night. TVLine says, “Although the duo still turned in an elegant, passionate piece, it was difficult to focus on their rumba while Fifth Harmony suffered from timing and tuning issues from start to finish.” Anyways, the singing in the background shouldn’t have affected Val and Normani’s score. What did you think of Normani’s performance last night? Do you agree that 5th Harmony had some technical difficulties that messed up their performance and Normani’s performance? I want to know what your thoughts are on last night’s DWTS. Let me know in the comments below!
