How This Brave Teen With Progeria Is Beating The Odds And Staying Strong
Kaylee Halko isn’t like most kids her age and that’s what makes her extra special.
The 13-year-old girl with progeria, a condition that gives children the appearance of a rapidly accelerated age (along with hair loss, bone, joint, heart and growth issues), has defied doctors’ odds from day one. And nothing is going to slow her down.
Because her joints are stiff and her bones are brittle, it’s important for Kaylee to stay strong.
And the best way for her to do that is to do something she loves the most: dance dance dance!
For the past seven years, Kaylee has taken dance lessons, so there’s hardly any dance move she can’t pull off! Her latest favorite? Hip hop.
Her mom Marla thinks it suits the sassy teen and she loves to see her daughter having a blast.
Not only does Kaylee love to dance, she’s also a songstress in the making.
Her smash hit songs she uploads to the app Musical.ly have been a huge hit. So big, in fact, that her three million fans and counting would happily agree.
Although her family said she’s endured a lot of bullying over the years, it’s her positive fan base who support Kaylee and the amazing young lady she’s become! Keep shining, girl!
