      This misses something important. Yes, you could use such a contraption to lift blocks, and it might be feasible to construct it in a reasonably water-tight way (although the pressure really would be immense). But there's a more fundamental problem here. In order for the blocks to rise, they must displace a greater mass of water. So in order to lift up the 6 million tonnes of rock to the top of the pyramid, you'd need to lift up more than 6 million tonnes of water. So how did they move the water, and is that really easier than just moving the blocks?
