Wednesday marked International Women’s Day and countless female celebrities celebrated the day by posting inspiring pictures, quotes and dedications to their social media accounts, but some took this a step further! Often times the older generations complain about the younger generation not being educated enough on important worldly topics, or not contributing where it counts… well some top models just shut those complaints DOWN! Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid might be millennials, but they sure do know how to support their gender! While they’re crushing catwalks and runways during fashion week after fashion week, the models along with some of fashion’s finest came together for a Women’s Day PSA! W Magazine created a video with the models in addition to 60 other women and MEN to talk about women’s rights! Within the first five seconds we see a familiar face, Hailey Baldwin. Then we hear these three phrases repeated. “And I am a woman” “Please Respect yourself, respect women.” “Women’s rights are human rights” W Magazine not only portrayed both genders in the video, they too included women and men of all cultures, ethinicites and races… a nod at the president’s immigration policy! I have to say, the entire video is pretty powerful and says a lot about these young influencers! But this isn’t the first time we’ve seen them stand up for political and social rights. Bella Hadid and her sister, Gigi, marched in New York during to protest Trump’s anti-immigration ban. Bella and Gigi held a sign that read: We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews, spelling out the word ‘HUMANS.’ Kendall Jenner wasn’t able to attend the women’s march on Washington or across the world, but of course she showed her support the way any busy celebrity does, via SOCIAL MEDIAAAA!! On the day she posted this picture with the caption, “I wish I could’ve been part of this amazing history. beyond proud.” Now what is interesting to me is the fact that neither Kendall nor Gigi’s other members of their families appeared in the video. One would think W magazine get the girl power of ALL the Kardashian Jenner’s behind this video, right? Or maybe Bella and Kendall wanted to make this their own thing? Either way, the message is beautiful and powerful and I’m so happy to see Kendall, Bella, and Hailey putting their star power to work for the good! What do you think of the W magazine video and the words Kendall and Bella say? Are they trying too hard to push their femininity or do they deserve praise? Let me know in the comments below! and remember, GIRL POWER!
