Local media reported three people were killed following clashes between the police and protesters associated with the Madhesi minority groups, prominent in southern Nepal. The AP reported the protesters were attempting to disrupt a political rally. This dramatic footage shows protesters and police clashing in Maleth, a village north of Saptari. Protesters are seen charging towards police, before the sound of shots causes them to scatter. Shortly after, the video shows police in riot gear beating protesters with bamboo batons.
