Massive Wild Fires in Spain Create a Chilling Backdrop for this British Airways Flight

1 August 2023 the small town of La Linea Spain erupted into flames. Just kilometers from the border with Gibraltar and the Gibraltar International Airport a major fire broke out around 1:00 pm near the area of El Zabal and Santa Margarita in La Linea, Spain.

As I watched the fire develop from only a few kilometers away, it was apparent the fire was spreading, as we have very dry conditions here due to a lack of rain and hot climate.

Fire fighters were dropped via helicopter and shortly after fire fighter planes were on scene (video here: )

This British Airways flight came in for landing shortly after the fire broke out and was able to land safely even though the billowing smoke was making its way closer to the airport runway.

I have heard some information from local residents of some property damage, and some homes that may have been affected by this massive fire that spread quickly!
