Florida's STAND YOUR GROUND law will be tested again on Thursday and Friday of next week on July 6th & 7th (2023)
I clipped together the true crime story of Ashley Benefield (Black Swan Ballerina) told by the daughter of her v!ctim
DISCLAIMER: The daughter telling her story uses humor to cope and has written a set about her life. If her laughter makes anyone uncomfortable it is probably both unintended and also not a 'her' problem. I'm glad she's found an outlet & I hope she continues to heal. She seems like a decent person and her shirts are dope. ghostcowboy dot co
According to the Sheriff's Department, on Sept. 27, 2020, Ashley Benefield shot and k!lled her husband Doug Benefield in her mother's home in the Central Park area in Manatee County.
It started in 2015.
Attending a Trump rally, Doug meets Ashley.
(Nine months prior Doug's wife had died.)
After knowing each other for 13 days, Doug & Ashley married.
They start a business and a family immediately.
Ashley is so sick during her pregnancy she thinks Doug is poisoning her & moves to Florida.
(Ashley tries to convince the daughter that the dad merked the mom. It's a bizarre story!)
Doug has no contact with Ashley, but she still thinks he is poisoning her.
She checks herself into a hospital 3 weeks early, convinced she is poisoned, and has a c-section to keep Doug from being around her and the child. (Allegedly. I have a hard time believing a mother can DEMAND a c-section, but idk and I'm not a biologist.)
She has the baby and they see each other occasionally, settling on a long-distance marriage.
When Doug's daughter (Eva) turned 18 he planed to move to Maryland with Ashley and "start over".
That never happened. When Doug showed up with a Uhaul, Ashley sent her mom down the road to the park with their child, and Ashley would end Doug's life claiming she was standing her ground.
I wonder what the mom has to say. I wonder what story the body worn cams will show. Ashley's lawyer wants to block the responding officers from testifying because they are not "experts". If it gets that far, I hope this chick testifies. The fall trial of a ballerina wielding a .45 out of self-defense aughta be the comfort content we all need. See ya in October.

Next Court Date: July 6, 2023 - July 7, 2023
Trial scheduled for October 2023
