Lioness safely carries cub across road

What a precious moment this is! A very protective mother carefully brings her cub across a road at the Kruger National Park in South Africa. She carefully puts her cub in her mouth, looks both ways, and slowly proceeds to the other side of the road. These two are adorable! When she lets go of her cub, it isn't long before it wants to go back on the road! The mother continues scanning the road as her cub enjoys its time playing around her, so cute! It looks like they want to cross the road again, but this time, after the mother lion checks both sides of the road, she lets her cub walk to the other side. Lions are such beautiful creatures. Their prey consists of lots of buffalo, giraffes and wild hogs. Lions also like to feed on smaller prey like birds and reptiles. When the food is scarce, they will actually attack elephants. Fewer than 21,000 remain in Africa now, the population has been cut in half since the 1950's, this is crazy! They are now only found in the south Sahara desert and in parts of southern and eastern Africa. Lions are very affectionate within their prides. We can tell this mother loves her cub very much and wants it to be safe wherever it goes, awesome!
