Mexico's Popocatepetl Volcano Spews Lava as it Erupts

Rumble Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano, dubbed “El Popo” by the locals, spewed lava and ash as it erupted throughout the night on November 29.

According to Mexico’s <span class="caps">CENAPRED</span>, or <a href="" target="_blank">National Center for Disaster Prevention</a>, the volcano spewed constantly, emitting water vapor, gases, ash and lava fragments from 8:47 pm on November 29 until 04:35 am on November 30. Several nearby towns experienced ash rain, including San Nicolas de los Ranchos, Cholula and more in the southeastern Mexican state of Puebla.
