Large Flames, Smoke Seen Amid 'Controlled Burn-Off' at Sydney Plant

Flames and a large plume of smoke were seen in the skies above Botany, Sydney, on December 1, <a href="http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/botany-chemical-plants-controlled-burn-sparks-giant-flame-visible-across-sydney-20161201-gt1rmz.html" target="_blank">reportedly</a> as a result of a controlled burn-off at a chemical plant.

The plant owners, Qenos, were <a href="http://www.news.com.au/national/nsw-act/news/fire-at-sydney-factory-sends-smoke-into-air/news-story/88243d27d5e47d41db49c47b56d73555" target="_blank">reported</a> to have said the burn-off began as a safety measure after an electrical fault at the plant.
