Paul Conroy, a UK-based war photographer who was in Homs, Syria, during the 2012 siege alongside journalist Marie Colvin and photographer Remi Ochlik before they were killed, used Twitter on December 1 to pressure the UK government to save Aleppo.

Conroy discusses the tactics being used to kill innocent women and children, alongside the Western world’s failure to intervene in the city, where at least 200,000 civilians remain under siege. Conroy told people in the UK and United States, among others, to “stop watching other people save lives,” and take action by repeatedly calling Downing Street to pressure the government to take action.
