Four people, including two children, were reported to have frozen to death over the last few nights at displaced persons camps set up in northern Iraq near Tal Afar, about 50 miles from Mosul.

Temperatures in the area have dropped below zero degrees celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) the past few nights, according to reports, with insufficient heating and shelter in the camps. This video, posted December 2, shows a man carrying a small body identified as his son, who is said to have frozen to death overnight. The man is said to be of Turkmen origin and, with his family, was bound for Turkey after having paid $700 for transit to the camp from Mosul.
